| The Ministries of Tourism and Transportation are going out on an undercover inspection of taxis. Inspectors from these ministries will pass themselves off as tourists over the month of July and will do covert inspections of taxis. The objective is to enforce the law and to improve service in anticipation of the influx of hundreds of thousands of tourists and sightseers from all over the country during the summer months and the holidays. |

As part of the operation, compliance with law on everything related to the obligation to operate the metre, the giving of service for short trips, and more, along with the giving of fair, proper, and courteous service to tourists, will all be checked. The covert inspection is being done by inspectors from both bureaus impersonating tourists and they will implement sanctions against anyone breaking the law, as per the authority of the Ministry of Transportation. |
