Active ImageStudies and surveys done around the world find that tourists from developed countries clearly tend to prefer hotels that have an environmentally conscious approach - even if it costs more money.  In a survey conducted among American, British and Australian tourists, 70% of the respondents stated that they would pay as much as $150 more for a 2-week stay in an environmentally friendly hotel.  Other surveys found that 87% of the British public claim that that their holiday absolutely must not create  environmental damage; 65% (39 million) of German tourists expect products that preserve the environment, and 42% (25 million) think that it is particularly important to find accommodation that is environmentally friendly.
