Travel to Israel reached a new all-time high last month with the arrival of 268,000 international tourists--a 5% increase compared to May 2010. Also, approximately 1,168,000 travelers arrived for one-day visits between January and May 2011--4% more than the same period last year.

If the Dead sea will be chosen as one of the new7wonders of nature (it's one of the finalists in this campaign, you can vote here: http://www.facebook.com/VoteDeadSea ), tourism to Israel will rise even more next year.
I think that these new records are also a result of the many tourism campaigns that are run by the Ministry of tourism.
