Skål International Red Sea Bay Chapter crossed the borders of both Aqaba-Jordan, and Eilat-Israel, into Taba, the northernmost tip of the Sinai desert in Egypt, on the 18th of December in order to celebrate the club's 3rd anniversary. A Gala dinner awaited them in Tobya Boutique Hotel, owned and operated by Skålleague Vice President, Nadia Shalaby.
The evening was highlighted by 3 special events:
The first was that the Presidency of Skål International Red Sea Bay was passed over from Ahuva Zaid, the current President for the past 2 years and resident of Eilat, to Nadia Shalaby, resident of Taba.

The second event was that Israel's Olympic Champion, Shachar Tsoberi, joined the group as an honorary guest, and presented the club with a personal autographed gift.
The third was the launching of the first regional map of Aqaba-Eilat-Taba produced by Skålleague Zvi Dror.
It was a fabulous evening, full of good friends, great food, and an entertaining authentic dance show.

Instead of returning straight back home, 10 members that stayed overnight in Tobya Boutique Hotel conversed into the night with their friends from Taba, and travelled the next day to Santa Katherine Monastery, and Nueiba.
The 2 hour drive to Santa Katherine was rich in the astounding, vast beauty of the Sinai desert.
All agreed that there is probably no other place in the world with such rare beauty, where the rugged, colourful mountains meet with the long stretches of sand and turquoise sea.
A tasty lunch was served by the shores of the Red Sea, at "Habiba" resort in Nueiba, owned and operated by Skålleague Maged.
In these couple of days Skålleagues from Aqaba and Eilat got the opportunity to experience the land and the cultures of their friends and Skålleagues from Taba and Nueiba in Sinai Egypt, following Skål International President Hulya Aslantas's theme: "BRIDGING THE CULTURES".
