Last month (October 2008) 198,000 tourists flew into Israel, of which 5,400 were on flights directly to Eilat.  This is an increase of 32% over the same time last year. 

The month of October was a new record for Israeli tourism: 300,000 tourist entries into Israel, a rise of 21% compared to October 2007.  2.6 million visitors have arrived in Israel since the beginning of the year, a rise of 36%.

 

248,000 were tourist entries (a rise of 13%) and 55,000 were one-day visits (a rise of 80%), mostly visitors from Russian, the Ukraine, Poland, and Czech Republic who entered via the Taba border crossing.    198,000 came in by air, of which 5,400 were on flights directly to Eilat.  This is an increase of 32%.
