| 49.2% of all the tourists lodging in Eilat during January through August of this year were French and Russian tourists, according to the latest report of the Eilat Hotels Association. During those months, the report showed that there were about 182,000 French lodgings, comprising 31% of the total tourist lodgings, and 106,000 Russian ones, comprising 18.2% of the total. In third place was tourism from the USA, with 92,000 lodgings which was 15.7% of the total. |

The Hotels Association report shows that in September 2008 there were 5,963,469 lodgings registered (of Israelis and tourists), with room occupancy averaging 70%. Some 87% of all the lodgings were Israelis, with the rest foreign tourists. A review of the occupancy rates showed that the Caesar Hotel had the highest occupancy, at 88%, followed by Sheraton Eilat and Club Inn hotels with 86%, and Isrotel Agamim and Dan Panorama hotels at 85% occupancy.
