After an approximately 8-year break, the Finnish charter company Lomamatkat will once again be operating charter flight from Finland to Eilat.

The Ophir Tours incoming tourism operators signed an agreement with the Finnish company regarding all the land arrangements, hotels, and tours within Israel.  Some 23 Lomamatkat charter flights, carrying around 160 tourists each, are expected to be landing in Eilat during the next few months.

As part of the agreement, tour groups from Finland will come for stays of seven or so days in Eilat.  Ophir Tours signed an agreement with ten hotels having varying tourist ratings to accommodate the tourist.  Special tour packages were prepared for the Finnish tourists including trips to Petra in Jordan, Santa Caterina in Sinai, Jerusalem, and Masada.

Ophir Tours chairman Boaz Vexman said that he expects the anticipated charters to bring in around $4.5 million to the state during the next six months.
