Six years have passed since the sudden death of Udi Segal, a former coach
and icon of the Eilot city basketball.

.Since the tragedy, his family found a unique and original way to commemorate
his memory with the - "Veteran basketball tournament".

But what started out small, becomes an international tournament this year,
Just before the celebrations begin, his brother,

Neri Segal, says, the only regret is that Udi will   not be on the court when this happens

The truth, it is difficult to remain indifferent to the celebration of the historic basketball
hysteria, to be held here in Eilat this week,

For the first time in this country, we will see, on one court, all the best basketball
players from the past,

including some big players all the way from Spain. They will all be here,
at the tournament to honour the memory of the late Udi Segal.

As a man who lived and breathed basketball, he left his mark in the industry
both in Eilat and in neighbouring Eilot.

Among other things, Udi did a great deal for the youth,

coaching society youth groups and establishing Basketball Summer camps.

Before his death, Udi served as the Sports Division  Director of the Eilot Regional Council
This will definitely be a special and emotional occasion, no doubt, with some
added dance spirit from Sarit Kapon's dance students.
