The International Birdwatching Center in Eilat was recently awarded the “Magshim Israel” award by the Council for a Beautiful Israel for the year 2008 and to mark Israel’s 60-year anniversary.
The ceremony was held at the President’s House in Jerusalem on May 20th, attended by the President of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres.

The award was handed to Prof. Reuben Yosef, the general director of the Society, and Nira Peretz, of the Government Tourism Company. Many Eilatis were present at the ceremony, including the staff of the Centre and the general director of Eilat Municipality.
