Discussed in the meeting was the future development plan for the city of Eilat, which  will focus on transportation, education, tourism, culture and other topics relating to the development of the city. One of the Projects  presented at the meeting, was the evacuation of the airport from downtown Eilat and the establishment of

the new airport "Ramon" Timna. Government approval of the project will come on Sunday. The Prime Minister also directed special attention to accelerate the construction of the fence on the border with Egypt, in order to reduce the illegal infiltration into Israel, and stated that the government intended to assist in developing the city of Eilat. "We are exploring a number of projects and will act promptly to examine them in depth and take them to work. Already on Sunday we will get a vote of the government's decision to  transfer the airport, and build a fence to prevent illegal infiltration, which will help  Eilat, Negev,  andIsrael as a wholeThe Meeting was attended by: Minister of Education, Gideon Saar, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, Minister for Development of the Negev and Galilee Silvan Shalom, Minister of Transport Minister Israel Katz, Tourism Stas Misezhnikov, Interior Minister Eli Yishai, Minister of Culture and Sport Limor Livnat, Eilat Mayor Meir Yitzhak Halevi, Zvi Hauser Cabinet Secretary, National Economic Council Chairman Prof. Eugene Kandel and ministerial representatives.
