Yesterday the city of Eilat, just like the rest of the country stopped for five minutes for the Gilad Shalit, each minute symbolizing the number of years since the abduction of the soldier. President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attending the Negev Commission also marked the event. This is not the first time that actions have been taken in the town of Eilat to support the soldier held hostage in the Gaza Strip. Last June, a huge banner was placed at the entrance of Goldwater college , saying: We're on vacation, what about Gilad? as well as, a grand march of solidarity that took place in December.
