| On the evening of 10 November, 2008, Eilat held a memorial rally at Beit Rubin to commemorate 13 years since the assassination of Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin. The mayor of Eilat gave a speech, followed by a musical selection by the Eilat Music Conservatory, solos, and choral songs. Youth groups said words and offered songs to commemorate the late prime minister who had been working so hard for peace. Too hard, apparently, for the religious extremist that murdered him in the name of the same God that as Jews they shared. |
