On Tuesday 16 September, just preceding the advent of the High Holy Days, there will be a donation day for the local charity ‘Latet B'Eilat' on the Voice of the Red Sea radio station.  ‘Latet B'Eilat' continues to operate ‘Raphael House' to provide food for the needy, the running cost of which for 2007/8 presently stands at 600,000 shekels.  This year the charity has been preparing 12,500 sandwiches per month (150,000 annually), distributed 7,500 hot meals per month (90,000 annually), cooked 2,500 portions monthly for special events such as bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings, brits, religious celebrations, birthdays, hosting of ill children, and more (30,000 portions annually).  Eilatis are invited to donate via the broadcast or otherwise, and by any means, such as work days, weekend auctions, objets d'art, and money.  To donate, please ring 08-6340630.
