Shachar Tsoberi, the Eilati windsurfer, has been racking up honours and propositions since winning the bronze medal at the 2008 Beijin Olympics. The latest is a new job: Shachar has been chosen to be the presenter for Renault's launching of its Renault Clio Surf limited edition. Shachar will be leading the million-shekel Clio Surf launch campaign, receiving a Clio Surf for his own personal use for two years as well as $65,000 a year.
The campaign, due to start in about two weeks through the Glickman Natler Samsonov advertising firm at a cost of around 1 million NIS, will include adverts in the national press, magazines, local newspapers, a big sales campaign throughout the country, and shows including sales points.

Ilan Tal, deputy sales and marketing manager of the Carso Group that imports Renault, said "The Carso firm believes in Israeli sports and is proud to be the first company that chose Shachar Tsoberti as presenter for his incorporation into the company's publicity strategy, based on connecting and identifying with the label's values, the world of sports, and an international lifestyle. Tsoberi was chosen to lead the new campaign because of his matching the sporty, young, dynamic image of the Clio Surf and the connection with the label's values of leadership, quality, excellence, and innovation."

The car, an automatic, incorporates a panel of innovative and custom accessories including spoilers, a sound system with controls in the steering wheel, and other features which Shachar will soon be telling you all about. The cost of the car is 104,900 NIS.
Shachar has been courted and/or honoured by various entities, including Isrotel, since winning his medal. For his birthday, he was hosted at Isrotel's Sport Club hotel. He met with the managers of all the Isrotel hotels during that visit (above photo). Shachar and his family were also invited to a ceremony in which the Sport Club hotel unveiled a wall covered with a giant picture of him on a windsurf board. The Isrotel chain is one of the financial sponsors of the Sailing Club (‘Centre for Marine Education').
