About 200 children and youth will be active in the Eilat Youth Futures program, which is a nationwide program of the Jewish Agency, intended to promote children and youth to prosper personally and socially.. "Eilat was one of the first settlements to begin the Youth futures program ,five years ago,"said Hagit Shilo - Director of  Jewish Agency Eilat - Eilot - Toronto Partnership."The program is a pioneer  model in Eilat and other settlement programs, now scattered in  32 communities." The program is operated by the Jewish Agency in cooperation with the Jewish Federation of Toronto and the Municipality of Eilat, and integrates urban solutions in education, welfare and community.The program is based on a unique model of attaching mentors ("Trustees") for children. Each trustee willserve as an adult  mediator between the education, welfare and cultural needs of these children, with co-operation of parents and varius factors in the community.
