This is only the first stage of putting together the coalition, says mayor Meir Itzhak Halevi, adding that negotiations with city council member Rafi Hochman and members of his party are in final stages and that there are understandings on most of the matters, and areas of responsibility and authorisations are being examined in a good spirit.
"The intent is to expand the coalition as greatly as possible, in order to allow all of the city council members to be partners in the public work for which we were elected," the mayor says, adding, "Alongside the coalition agreements, a number of principles were set out, one of them separation between the political part and the professional part, adhering to the mayor's policy, and full partnership in the doing." Out of lessons learned in the past, the mayor puts an emphasis on maximum discussion and cooperation that is entirely for the benefit of the Eilati residents.
