The Oren Barkan Awards ceremony was held at the InterUniversity Institute (IUI) on Wednesday to grant awards to two outstanding students.  The postgrads winning the award were Asaf Zebuloni for his doctoral work on the spread of Black Stripe disease in corals, and Margarita Zrubin for her masters on phosphorescent zooplankton and bacteria in the sea.  This is the eighth year in which the Barkan family, together with the Zuko firm where Oren Berkan was working at the time he was killed in a road accident, have awarded the scholarships.
