The general deputy director and head of the hospitals division of the ‘Klalit' health fund, Dr. Ehud Davidson, made a visit at the end of August to the Yoseftal hospital.  Accompanied by the head of the medical administration of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Hezi Levi, they toured the hospital and met with mayor Meir Itzhak-Halevy at the latter's office.

Dr. Davidson emphasised to the mayor that Klalit would continue to take care of maintaining the quality and professional standard of the hospital, operating on several levels.  This includes recruiting specialist doctors for the hospital, bringing interns from medical schools to do their internship here as is practised in the world's leading hospitals, and cooperation with the Soroka University Medical Centre in Be'er Sheva to give professional assistance as per an innovative and unique model that was developed for communication between the corresponding departments in Soroka and Yoseftal (paediatric, internal, surgical, ob-gyn, etc.).

Tightening the bonds with the Toronto Jewish community for receiving donations to benefit the hospital - Klalit committed itself to adding a significant sum from its own sources to the donation that was received from Toronto.  In the coming months, items of the donation designated for construction of a new emergency ward will be agreed upon.   The administration of Klalit in cooperation with the Yoseftal administration is working toward advancing the prototype for development of the hospital in the coming years for the benefit and the health of Eilati residents.
