Eilat Municipality has decided to purchase 600 items and artworks that were made by employees of the ‘Unique' Special Needs Employment Centre, which employs about 30 people with disabilities.  The items will be distributed to employees of the Municipality on the upcoming Rosh Hashanah.  It might be noted that the artworks produced at the Centre are purchased during the year by hotels and many other organisations.

The 'danglies' in the photo, for example, were purchased at the Cellcom booth in the Mall many months ago, although I use mine on disc-on-keys. They can go on just about anything: zipper pulls, mobile phones, rings on handbags...  Even longer ago, a workmate brought beadwork 'sculptures' (3-D beadwork) made by the Centre to sell at work and I lucked out in finding a lizard still remaining.  There are some very talented and creative people working at the Centre.  Having a disability, one or several 'working parts' not working properly, does not detract from all the rest of the person and his abilities.  It is very nice to see the City and other organisations recognising this fact.
