Enjoying a good steak at the Pedro Bistro Restaurant is a delightful experience, but talking to the grillman Eli, who takes so much pride in his meat, was another delightful experience on it's own. Working as a butcher for many years, Eli learned and gained a lot of experience and knowledge in the world of "meat ".and with all his experience, knowledge and love for meat, he became to be a proud chef. Now, with years of experience behind him, Eli tells us how he "treats" and smokes all of Pedro's meat, explaining the whole process. The story begins about five years ago. One day a fluffy grey dog waltzed his way into Dolphin Reef. We hardly noticed him, but after a few days we noticed that he kept going down to the pier and gazing at the dolphins. He would sit there for hours staring at the dolphins and, of course, the dolphins being curious creatures themselves found him very interesting.

Written by: Samara Gordon Goodness I am not really sure where to start my story but I guess most stories start at the beginning. For me the question is where is my beginning to this story, so please bear with me while I try to find a thread to start from. I was born in Cape Town in 1961, to a half Jewish Mother and a Christian father. So effectively, I was a ¼ Jew and something I was very proud of growing up, even though I had to attend Sunday school and church every Sunday.

We are very saddened by the death of Isrotel Hotel Chain Founder, David Lewis, who died in London last night at age 87, after a long illness. David Lewis was a kind and wonderful person who would, every year, invite disabled IDF veterans and their families as his guest at hotels in Eilat. He also made quiet donations to scores of charities and needy individuals, without ever seeking any kind of publicity. Eilat residents and Isrotel employees and managers bow their heads in remembrance of Mr. David Lewis, who was for them, not only an owner of Isrotel, but an example of Zionism, pioneering, courage, vision, imagination, and concern for the State of Israel. He was an inspiration to everyone who had the privelage of knowing him.

The fifth and final day capped what was a spectacular 2011 Techno Windsurfing World Championships. The final day was a full one with 2 course races and a long distance race on the agenda and the tension could be cut with a knife with multiple world titles up in the air. The long distance race is not part of the overall scoring but was a once in a life time opportunity for many, with the infamous island prison of Alcatraz serving as the leeward mark.
